Senior Fleet Maintenance Technician
Qualifications
Job Qualifications – Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the operation of fleet equipment and machinery required.
- Job-relevant certification/license, vocational/technical program completion, or completion of apprenticeship preferred.
- Class A CDL preferred, or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- ASE Master Certification in either of the following required:
- Auto/Light Truck,
- Medium/Heavy Duty Truck
- EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) Certified within 180 days of employment required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position.
- Knowledge and experience in using HVLP spray guns, body repair tools, paint mixing equipment, and safety gear.
- Proficiency in use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
- Ability to prepare and track maintenance and inspection plans.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain concentrated focus.
- Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person.
- Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
- Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize routine and robust tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently under moderate supervision and make responsible decisions.
- Ability to work under established processes and solve problems within defined parameters.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to safely drive vehicles used to transport materials, tools, and equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty. Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable.
Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the duties of this job.
Indoor and outdoor work environment.
- May be exposed to loud noise levels.
- Occasionally exposed to varying, inclement weather
- Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts; may work in high and dangerous places.
- Occasionally required to use protective gear to work near trenches, confined spaces, chemicals, gasses, and other toxic substances or conditions.
