Job Summary

Zero to Thrive is seeking a part time (50%) coordinator for our Infant Mental Health (IMH) project. Zero to Thrive is a multi-disciplinary center housed within the Department of Psychiatry at Michigan Medicine and is a leader in perinatal, infant and early childhood mental health, with a focus on families exposed to adversity. The Michigan Model of Infant Mental Health Home Visiting (IMH-HV) is a needs-driven, relationship-focused intervention for parents and infants/toddlers aged 0 to 36 months. IMH-HV aims to meet the needs of families at risk for relationship problems, child abuse and/or neglect and behavioral health concerns. IMH-HV is currently provided through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to Medicaid-eligible families in pregnancy and/or with infants/toddlers. This part-time IMH Coordinator would perform various administrative, financial and research tasks to support the sustainability, training and study of IMH-HV. This includes activities to support ongoing learning for IMH-HV providers, such as webinars, resources and manual development, as well as research activities to study and disseminate findings.

Responsibilities*

    Project Coordination

  • Initiate various project activities with key players to complete objectives.
  • Track and assist in completion of project objectives to ensure all activities are accomplished in accordance with timelines as well as funder and departmental guidelines.
  • Assisting the PI and project team to complete necessary reports to funders according to required timelines.
  • Administrative activities which may include activities such as submitting purchasing and managing procurement processes, scheduling, creating and distributing meeting agendas, taking meeting notes and disseminating action items, etc.  

    Budget

  • Assist PI and project team with drafting grant budget amendments and creating new proposals.
  • Monitor and track all project expenses, including all purchases and staff effort. Complete necessary documentation required to verify expenses.

    Research Activities

  • Coordination and completion of regulatory requirements including IRB maintenance and data use agreements as needed  
  • Conduct tracking, organization and maintenance of study activity, e.g., electronic data collection, organization of study materials, participant information 
  • Additional research activities may include the potential for data analysis.
  • Additional research activities may include the potential for data coding, which may include qualitative, interaction or other assessment data.

    Dissemination

  • Assist PI and project team with manuscript preparation.
  • Work with team to disseminate project relevant communications and updates.
  • Complete all monitoring and tracking required for dissemination activities including obtaining required approvals and verifying acknowledgments and contacts.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, 
  • Familiarity with IRBs and other research regulatory systems
  • A background, understanding and/or strong interest in attachment, trauma, infant mental health, early childhood, and/or parent/child relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated skills in time management, organizational skills and the ability to be detail oriented
  • Experience using virtual phone and/or video conferencing systems (i.e., Zoom)
  • Experience working with families that have experienced adversity

Research Area Specialist Intermediate: 4-5 years experience in a research or infant mental health, maternal health setting 

Research Area Specialist Associate: 1-3 years experience in a research or infant mental health, maternal health setting 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience managing data entry (entering, organizing, cleaning, etc.) 
  • Experience utilizing electronic data entry systems (i.e., Qualtrics, REDCap)
  • Experience analyzing data
  • Experience writing and preparing manuscripts

Work Schedule

Varied within M-F regular office hours.

Work Locations

Remote and Rachel Upjohn Building.

Additional Information

This will be a 1 year, term-limited appointment. At the end of the stated term (10/1/2024 - 9/30/2025, your appointment will terminate, and will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits.  This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.

Background Screening

In addition to the screenings indicated above under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
