Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour
Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Responsibilities*

Responsibilities 
Provide culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in delivering nursing care for the Radiation oncology patient population.
Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care. 
Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources. 
This RN position is essential in managing clinic flow, patient care needs to include, but not limited to triage/assessment of high acuity patients, therapy education, procedural education, medication administration and management, responding to clinic emergencies, port maintenance, collaboration with multiple disciplines / infusion / scheduling / lab management.

Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals.
Demonstrated accountability and dependability including a good attendance record with punctuality.
Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and reinforcement related to oncologic conditions including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, oral therapy, infusion, etc.
Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
Willingness to adapt to different populations within the Rad Onc & Gold Team team as patient demands require. Orientation and training would be provided for new subspecialties.  

Nursing Specific Info

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.
Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort.
Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan Medicine

Minimum of twelve (12) months of Radiation Oncology RN experience within the last three (3) years

Minimum of eighteen (18) months of Oncology RN experience within the last five (5) years

Desired Qualifications*

Recent experience with patients undergoing radiation therapy. 
Ambulatory Care Experience with telephone triage/symptom management within the last five (5) years
BSN
OCN certification

Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 40 hours

Shift/Hours/Days: 
Day Shift; Monday-Friday, may include Saturdays/Sundays/Holidays in the future if clinic hours expand
Hours may be variable (based on patient and volume needs)

Location: 
Rogel Cancer Center- UH Radiation Oncology, Ann Arbor (with potential to work in other locations with expansion of division) 
Hybrid work may occur (beyond the orientation period) based on clinic need and onsite commitment.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
