Public Relations Coordinator - News Monitoring
Position Overview
The News Media Coordinator works directly with multiple public relations teams within our global technology/eCommerce client to monitor online news and forums, identify notable stories or posts, and manage their general public relations email account. This role is foundational to the overall operation of our client's public relations team, providing unique experience and insight into how public relations operates at a large company. In a fast-paced and dynamic environment, this position requires the ability to sift through high volumes of information, use various search tools, and contribute to reporting with speed and precision. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, extremely organized, internet savvy, and passionate about finding critical information amidst the noise.
This is a 12-month, 40 hour per week contract in Seattle, Washington.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement media content strategies to boost audience engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and create relevant content.
- Monitor media trends and audience preferences to inform content creation.
- Manage content distribution across various platforms and channels.
- Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Experience in professional communications or public relations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work flex hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using media monitoring/intelligence tools (e.g. Cision, Meltwater, Talkwalker) and use of advanced search techniques and boolean logic
- Knowledge of Google, Bing, and other methods to search the internet
- Ability to conduct quick and efficient research
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Experience working in Salesforce and other knowledge management tools
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
