Harfang IP Investment Corp. seeks a Chief Licensing and Intellectual Property Officer in Laguna Beach, CA. Duties: Lead due diligence of patents being considered for potential acquisition. Lead licensing of acquired patents including preparation and negotiation of related documents (e.g. claim charts (i.e. essentiality analyses), license agreements, confidentiality agreements...), attending meetings, and conducting negotiations. Review and advise on the strength of patents and patent application as they relate to possible acquisition and licensing. Manage outside counsel in the preparation of patent litigation, as well as with respect to the prosecution, defense and reissuance of patents or applications in such portfolios. Stay abreast of legal developments relating to licensing of patents in the communications space (in particular developments regarding patents related to industry standards) and commenting on such developments (including providing feedback in request to governmental requests for information). Supervise Paralegals/Legal Assistants. Position requires a Juris Doctor or foreign equivalent and five years of experience in the practice of patent law. Position also requires a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and admission to practice before the US Patent & Trademark Office.
