About the Job

Job Summary/Purpose

The role of Product Manager will be to oversee the development, enhancement, and management of the Manhattan Active Omni suite of applications, specifically order management. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the product vision, defining the roadmap, and ensuring the successful execution of features that optimize the customer experience and streamline order processing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, user experience, store and FC operations, and customer support, to ensure the application meets business objectives, enhances operational efficiency, and delivers a seamless user experience. This role requires a combination of strong product management skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams within the organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Product visionary: Defines the long-term vision for the OMS through data driven insights, and research that aligns with PetSmart’s overall strategic vision and goals. Oversees product through all stages of the lifecycle and ensure product maintenance and scalability features are properly prioritized, in addition to enhancements.
  • Product roadmap: Develops, prioritizes, and communicates a product roadmap for the Order Management System (OMS) that enhances operational efficiency and delivers seamless, best-in-class customer experiences across all order-related touchpoints. Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of OMS features and processes, continuously monitoring these KPIs post-implementation to validate assumptions and identify opportunities for future enhancements. Articulates clear product priorities based on data-driven insights, focusing on measurable KPIs and outcomes that align with broader company and business goals. Continuously optimizes the OMS product and feature roadmap by assessing priorities, managing trade-offs, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Customer advocate: Effectively collaborate with multiple departments/stakeholders to ensure there is alignment on needs and goals. Ensure end users are trained to use the system effectively. This may involve designing onboarding programs, creating user manuals, and providing ongoing support. Although the primary users of the OMS are internal teams, the product manager must ensure that the system supports delivering a seamless customer experience. For instance, timely and accurate orders, real-time order tracking, and proactive communication about order status are key to customer satisfaction.
  • Communication: Manages relationships with stakeholders, intakes their requests, gathers requirements, discusses prioritization, and is transparent about timing and delivery. Communicates product updates to all stakeholders over the course of multiple meetings and various communication methods (email, Sharepoint, Confluence, JIRA, etc.). Collaborates with business stakeholders to maintain a backlog of feature requests and a product roadmap. Ensures coordination and collaboration across product managers to properly manage dependencies and avoid duplication of work.
  • Continual Improvement: Understands technical issues to effectively make decisions around prioritizing new features, reducing technical debt and improving resiliency. Fully understands and remains up to date on the competitive landscape. Discovers testing opportunities with new or existing features. Oversees product through all stages of the lifecycle and ensure product maintenance and scalability features are properly prioritized, in addition to enhancements.
