Job Description:
The Fidelity Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) team is seeking an Operating Systems Programmer to join our organization. This person will provide infrastructure support for the Mainframe Operating System (z/OS) along with various system products that support the OS, EI & business application teams. This position supports the provisioning and maintaining of Mainframe z/OS together with approximately 80 products from various vendors including IBM, Broadcom, BMC, Rocket & Precisely as well as disaster recovery of the platform to support business applications. This role is responsible for helping design, implementing, and maintaining technical infrastructures with the team and business partners.
The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of the mainframe z/OS environment including maintenance would be a plus.
Programming skills in REXX, Python, Java, C++, Scripting languages (JSON, XML, Ansible) would be a plus.
Knowledge of the following technologies would be a plus: z/OS, JCL, SMP/E, z/OSM, VSAM, z/OS Utilities (IEBCOPY/IEBGENER/DFDSS), JES2, ISPF, SDSF, Catalogs, USS & ZFS, ZOWE.
You are passionate about working in a team based agile environment and driving continuous improvement.
You have proven analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills, and a desire to assist others in solving complex technical issues.
You have excellent interpersonal skills with a strong interest in the z/OS platform support role.
You are highly motivated with the willingness to take ownership and responsibility for the work and the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
You will install, configure, upgrade, and maintain z/OS and related products into the z/OS environment.
You can communicate effectively and articulate your thoughts to your team and other teams across organizations.
You must be a self-starter, who actively challenges status-quo, is curious and not afraid to ask 'Why.'
Willing to work closely with our vendors but also hold them accountable.
Owning the outcome and making sure projects are delivered with quality and on time.
