Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the design and development of various mechanical systems for battery electric forklifts.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
- Specify main system parameters and design components to meet product performance and durability requirements
- Calculate load handling and steering system performance characteristics
- Perform structural analysis on new and improved sheet metal assemblies, castings, forgings, and welded assemblies
- Collaborate with suppliers on product specifications and testing requirements
- Create, manage, and execute development schedule for system responsibilities
- Manage part, assembly, and drawing revisions using CAD, PLM, and BOM systems
- Collaborate with testing group to validate system designs and performance
Education/Requirements:
- 2 or more years of experience in a new product development engineering role required (combined full time and internship)
- Required: Proficiency with CAD/PLM software
- Required: Familiarity with battery electric vehicle systems
- Preferred: Familiarity with basic fluid power components, configurations and design principles
- Preferred: Basic understanding of AC electrical power systems
