Job Summary:

As a Mechanic you will oversee and perform the preventative and reactive maintenance duties required for the plant manufacturing operation.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on semi-trucks, forklifts and trailers
Conduct inspections to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
Weld and fabricate parts as needed, is a plus
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
Ensure OSHA compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Required Skills & Abilities:

Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in troubleshooting and repair techniques
Familiarity with electrical systems, including wiring, motors, and control panels
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Proficient in welding and fabrication techniques, are a plus
Knowledge of logic controllers and automation systems are a plus
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in minor semi-truck repairs including tires and brakes
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education preferred.
CDL Class A or B Driver license is a Plus

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift loads of up to 100 pounds without the lift truck.
Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
Ability to withstand varying temperatures.
Must be able to work in different positions for a very long period of time and ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time.
Must be able to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment required for each job task (Steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat).
