The IRA/Trust Auditor II assists the AVP Retirement & Investment Services in creating and executing the annual audit plan. She/he will demonstrate professionalism, objectivity, knowledge and leadership in performing a variety of operational audits specific to financial institutions. The IRA/Trust Auditor II performs risk assessments and assurance and consulting engagements to support corporate goals. She/he aids internal corporate auditors by preparing work papers and documents and follows up on recommendations as directed by the AVP Retirement & Investment Services. The IRA/Trust Auditor II is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of IRA, HSA, Coverdell ESA, Estate, and deposit Trust transactions and file maintenance. This position utilizes Business Intelligence/MicroStrategy software to build on-demand and recurring reports in order to identify gaps and areas of risk. The IRA/Trust Auditor II conducts Symitar patch testing and IRS form data validation.

Essential Functions:• Creates, advances and executes risk assessment driven audit plan to identify areas of risk involving IRA, HSA, ESA, Estate, and Trust account deposit products to support corporate goals. • Recommends procedure for review of all IRA transactions and IRA account paperwork enterprise wide. • Produce audit reports, detailing audit findings, and submit comprehensive analysis to IRA Manager and AVP, Retirement & Investment Services. May conduct specialized follow-up audits, as directed by management.• Establishes written IRA/Trust Audit processes in alignment with regulatory standards and maintains Knowledge Base procedural content for training and on-boarding IRA Auditor I.• Builds and utilizes reporting within the Credit Union’s Business Intelligence interface (MicroStrategy) to analyze audit trends and new or emerging areas of risk.• Conducts core system "patch" testing to meet evolving regulatory standards.• Completes internal control test and responsible for sign-off and approval of electronic and hardcopy divisional tax reporting prior to release to the membership and Internal Revenue Service.• Continue professional development through training and participation in professional audit organization. • Attentive to possibility of errors and omissions, inefficiency, waste and conflicts of interest within the credit union.• Produces monthly key performance indicator reporting for the IRA/Trust division. Continually evaluates and develops audit procedures that can be used for monitoring employee performance. • Determine that internal controls are designed and operated effectively, ensure the credit union operates with efficiency, complies with laws, regulations, established policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles. • Work with management to recommend best practices and prudent internal controls. • Complete special projects in support of the credit union's strategic goals. • Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Job Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Required Minimum Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent.• IRA professional certification (CIP, CISP, or equivalent).• 3+ years of experience in public accounting or internal audit.• 3+ years of credit union or financial service industry.• 1+ years of Medallion Signature Guarantee experience.• Demonstrated technical abilities in select areas (audit, accounting, IRA/Trust regulatory compliance, etc.). • Well-organized, efficient, and able to work independently with multiple projects. • Ability to work with all levels of management and staff and possess good verbal and written communication skills to prepare audit reports and discuss audit findings and recommendations with management. • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. • Must be able to travel 5-15% to branches and professional development seminars.• Apply knowledge of NCUA and Georgia Department of Banking and Finance (GDBF) and IRS regulations, internal controls, internal audit standards, and industry best practices to audits. • Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
The IRA/Trust Auditor II must successfully complete Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust Fundamentals, Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School I, and pass the Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School I exam in accordance with the ABA’s CTFA™ certification Experience Tiers wealth management training program within 12 months of on-boarding.
Preferred Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.• Certified Trust Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation.• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).• Knowledge of Symitar.
