The Payroll Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the accurate processing of payroll in a large, multi-state environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll processing, tax laws, and case management, with a strong understanding of reciprocities, state/local tax laws, and their impact on employee wages. This individual should be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to interact with employees and address payroll inquiries. Additionally, the candidate should be proactive in offering suggestions for process improvement and able to handle payroll adjustments and issues independently.
Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing & Compliance:
- Perform quality reviews of payroll specialist and senior specialist work.
- Administer the Pay Cycle process (Verify, Calculate & Preview), ensuring all payroll-related tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Oversee garnishment order administration and compliance with relevant laws.
- Interpret payroll and time & labor laws, policies, and practices to ensure compliance in a multi-state environment.
- Process payroll adjustments, including retroactive payroll, leaves, terminations, and other exceptions.
- Administer the input of pay cycle batch data into the payroll system for miscellaneous payments, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Audit payroll data interfaced from the HR system and ensure consistency with salary and tax status.
- Maintain and audit payroll & timekeeping records to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Complete payroll cycle audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Employee Support:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related questions and issues.
- Address inquiries with professionalism and accuracy, ensuring employees are well-informed about payroll policies and procedures.

Case Management:
- Manage employee payroll cases within the ADP Vantage platform, ensuring proper tracking and resolution.
- Provide clear communication and support for payroll-related employee issues, offering solutions when needed.

Process Improvement & Suggestions:
- Actively identify and suggest process improvements to optimize payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes and employee satisfaction.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, with 5+ years of payroll experience in a large multi-state environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, reciprocities, and working in different jurisdictions.
- Experience with garnishment processing and payroll adjustments.
- Solid knowledge of payroll & time systems, including multi-state tax calculations, salary prorations, and short-term disability calculations.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, with the ability to analyze complex data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to accommodate employees on the West Coast with an adaptable work schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
- ADP Vantage Payroll & Vantage Time Platform experience is highly preferred.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $32.00 to $35.99 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
