Job Description:
Our client is seeking a talented Front-End Developer with Next.js expertise to join their team in a hybrid role based in Toledo, Ohio. This position focuses on building modern, high-performing user interfaces as part of a larger migration to Next.js.
You'll collaborate with a team structured around a Product Owner several developers focusing on back-end and full-stack development, and a smaller group of front-end developers working on shared resources. This is a fantastic opportunity for a front-end developer to make a meaningful impact on a high-visibility initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain front-end components using Next.js, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Work collaboratively with the product owner, back-end developers, and front-end colleagues to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues, ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices.
- Optimize front-end components for speed and responsiveness.
- Build reusable code and libraries to support future development.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Proven experience with Next.js and React.js in production environments.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, with a strong understanding of modern front-end development workflows.
- Familiarity with responsive design frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap).
- Knowledge of state management tools such as Redux or Context API.
- Ability to debug, optimize, and ensure high performance of front-end applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
- Familiarity with development tools like Git, Webpack, and Babel.
- Understanding of SEO best practices, particularly for server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG).
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40 to $50 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
