Field Service Technicians are specialists at supporting our one-of-a-kind solutions. Remaining flexible and adaptable, the Field Service Technician provides our customers top-notch support and frequently travels when called upon. Collaborating with customers, engineers, and senior team members to complete on-site inspections, maintenance, or repair of critical equipment will drive the next phase of your professional development.
As a Field Service Technician IV your core responsibility will be inspections, maintenance, repair and/or overhaul in the Marine industry and shipyard facilities of Electro-hydraulic equipment manufactured, licensed, or otherwise supported by Jered services in a service or warranty capacity as requested by the customer. In addition you will be instrumental in estimating large and/or highly technical quotations, engineering issues for all product lines, and provide technical assistance via telephone and onsite.

Additional Responsibilities Include:
* Perform on-site service and warranty functions as requested by the customer and authorized by Jered.
* Perform failure analysis on warranty and service calls, using engineering personnel (as necessary) to determine cause of malfunction and/or the validity of a warranty claim, and coordinate with the customer.
* Conduct tests of electrical and programmable components, assemblies and systems based on criteria as established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results.
* Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions and convey requirements of the documents to the craftsmen under supervision when required.
* Provide detailed time, trip, and expense reports in a timely manner as required by Jered procedures. Ensure the Managers capture all condition reports to include pricing, and job expenses to include materials, travel and time keeping.
* Ensure that all Jered requirements for service and maintenance are complete before leaving the customer’s facility.
* Advise the customer of any additional items that may require replacement, repair, or special service, provide advice on spare parts procurement.
* Operates required systems and test equipment in a safe manner, following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her immediate supervisor.
* Comply with all federal, state and local, safety rules and regulations as per Jered procedures and customer requirements.

* High School Diploma or GED
* QEI Certification
* 5+ Years of experience in a similar fast-paced environment
* Must have a working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items and be able to work to NAVSEA work specification.
* Must be able to read, interpret, and mark up blueprints and other technical drawings and material.
* Must be proficient with computers and computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel)
* Must be able to obtain and maintain security access to military installations, ships, and commercial shipyards and waterfront controlled industrial areas.
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong troubleshooting abilities. Must be able to generate condition reports on troubleshooting efforts.
* Ability to function within working conditions of a shipyard.
* Ability to travel on average 50% domestically and internationally and ability to support evening and weekend hours as needed.
* Valid Driver's License without restriction.
