Environmental Affairs Lab Analyst – Chem Fuels
** This is a full-time, ON-SITE, position located at the GA Power Environmental Lab @ 2480 Maner Rd, Atlanta, GA.
JOB SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for providing support for routine analyses and laboratory operation. This includes, but is not limited to, wet chemistry procedures and analysis, coal and oil analysis, radiochemistry analysis, instrumental analysis, sample preparation, cleaning of glassware, Sample Receiving support (sample login, disposal, etc…), procedure review and revision.
This position will start in the chemistry department performing tests on process and environmental samples. These procedures could include but are not limited to Total Suspended Solids, Oil & Grease, Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, Inductively Coupled Plasma/Mass Spectrometry, Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption and sample prep/metals digestion. Experience with LIMS software and Environmental Laboratory Accreditation would be a plus.
** Specifically looking for someone with experience performing analysis on metals using Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BS in physical/natural science or engineering (preference for Chemistry, Biology, etc…)
Must be able to work within a team environment and a good listener.
Must be detail-oriented, self-directed and possess good organizational skills.
Experience with quality control requirements for processing methods.
Computer proficiency using instrument and data management software.
