New York Life Investments seeks a Senior Associate with an investment banking and/or corporate finance background to join its strategy and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) group. The team supports the CEO and Management Committee of New York Life Investments on strategic initiatives critical to the organization, including M&A, partnerships, and business strategy projects.
What You'll Do:
- Work closely with senior leaders within NYLIM and across our family of asset management boutiques (notably MacKay Shields, Apogem Capital, Candriam, Tristan Capital Partners, Kartesia, and Ausbil) on strategy development, implementation and communication
- Conduct market and industry competitive research to assist in developing business strategy on behalf of NYLIM and its boutiques
- Create, design, and coordinate the development of internal and external presentations (both strategy and M&A), including presentations to the NYLIM Management Committee, New York Life Executive Management Committee, Investment Committee, and/or Board of Directors of New York Life
- Assist in the sourcing, assessment, due diligence, and execution of strategic M&A and partnership opportunities for NYLIM
- Develop financial and valuation models, evaluate business plans, and conduct business and industry level diligence/ analysis as it pertains to both M&A opportunities as well as certain strategy projects
- Work with business units (both within NYLIM and across our family of asset management boutiques) to implement cross-functional strategic projects
- Coordinate activities among senior management teams, investment boutiques, business units and other stakeholders
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field, with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, ideally in investment banking, management consulting, or asset management
- Demonstrated interest in and deep understanding of the asset management industry
- Excellent analytical skills, including expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and corporate finance
- Outstanding presentation and communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, energetic, and hardworking, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering results
- Proven project management capabilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Pay Transparency
Salary Range:$115,000-$160,000
Overtime eligible:Exempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
