Get ready for some real-world experience! BAE Systems is offering a temporary position as a short-term intern for our FAR Part 91 corporate aviation department located at Washington-Dulles International Airport (KIAD - Dulles, Virginia). Our department consists of a team of professionals committed to providing the highest level of service and safety while operating BAE corporate aircraft in domestic and international operations.
The flight department intern will spend 3-weeks in a "full-immersion" environment, gaining first-hand knowledge of corporate aircraft operations and management. The intern will participate in job shadowing across all disciplines including flight crew, dispatch/scheduling, maintenance, safety, cabin safety, and regulatory compliance.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $57200 - $79537
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- US Citizenship;
- Unrestricted US Passport;
- Minimum 3.0 GPA;
- FAA Commercial Pilot (ASMEL) with Instrument Rating;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and overall computer skills;
- Satisfactory disciplinary record (both at school and in the community);
- We have a strong desire for a student that has shown an interest in a non-airline career track, has a positive attitude, and is self-motivated to learn and work;
- A successful applicant will have a good attitude and be able to carry up to 80lbs of flight attendant luggage and catering coolers while navigating an airport terminal and talking on a cellphone.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Preference is somebody that may have completed some of the upper-level collegiate courses such as General Aviation Operations and Management, International/Long Range Navigation, Crew Resource Management, Transport Category Systems, Advanced Aircraft Operations, or Advanced Aerodynamics courses; and hold a Certified Flight Instructor rating.
