Reporting to the Director of Integrated Marketing, the Content Marketing Strategist is dedicated to increasing new student enrollment through comprehensive digital marketing campaigns tailored to pivotal moments in the admissions and academic cycles.
Owning the marketing calendar across all channels, this role will design integrated campaigns, create compelling narratives, and ensure timely rollouts to increase qualified traffic, inquiries, and applications.
The scope includes both organic and paid effort covering web content, social media, email, SEM, SEO, and display advertising. In collaboration with multiple university departments, the Content Marketing Strategist ensures unified messaging and optimal impact.
The ideal candidate blends creativity with analytics, embodying innovation, adaptability, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
End-to-end Ownership of Content Marketing Strategy
* Collaborate with the Director of Integrated Marketing to develop content marketing strategies.
* Create a shared university-wide marketing calendar that includes important events and holidays.
* Design journeys and content narratives for prospective students that set the framework for successful enrollment campaigns.
* Orchestrate cross-functional content development, and delivery, and lead discovery activities with key stakeholders. * Leverage digital, social, editorial, and journalistic skills to orchestrate rich content narratives optimized for digital channels and SEO (discover, learn, enroll, advocate). * Apply data-driven approaches to content development using web analytics and SEO tools. * Manage cross-channel repurposing of content to ensure maximum reach and efficacy.
* Manage a staff that may include employees, freelancers, interns and student workers. * Design, develop and deploy marketing content that increases engagement and brand exposure to achieve measurable strategy objectives.
* Measure the effectiveness of content strategy by employing web and social media analytics. Share findings and insights regularly with colleagues.
* Adjust marketing strategy based on analytics and strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION: Bachelors degree preferred, or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and ability.
EXPERIENCE: 4+ years in the disciplines of brand development, digital marketing, or journalism.
Knowledge of Digital Marketing
* Ability to apply strong digital marketing techniques, spanning social, editorial, and web assets, technologies, and platforms such as website, email, and social/editorial networks to engage stakeholders.
* Proficient in developing editorial and social ecosystem strategies that orchestrate planned, trending, rapid response, and peer/expert-generated content. Knowledge of Digital, Social and Web Analytics
* Ability to perform digital social and web analytics to optimize value from disparate marketing platforms.
* Proficiency in applying data-driven analytics and content targeting practices to advance opportunities and further define cohort groups.
CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS: This is an exempt, 12-month, benefits-based position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervise freelancers, agencies and interns as needed to support communications operations.
REPORTS TO: Director of Integrated Marketing
HOURS: The regular hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours may vary due to the needs of the university. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
SKILLS: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect effectively across a matrix organization. Ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver ongoing incremental performance improvements. A willingness to learn and develop ones existing skillset.
