Job description:SUMMARY:
Responsible for the assembly of a wide variety of assemblies and subassemblies to produce a quality product for our customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Operates equipment in a safe manner.
- Participate as a member of work teams. Assist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, delivery and cost. Work with team members, other business functions, customers and suppliers to continually improve these measures.
- Participates in Level 3 activities such as scrap and rework elimination projects along with various other kaizen events.
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
- Perform microscope inspection on assembled parts
- Maintain inventory of product in work stations
- Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations and/or unusual conditions to supervisor/lead person/engineer.
- Attends required training programs.
- Assist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipment.
- Performs 5 S activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read and write in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating instructions, engineering drawings, in process inspection plans and procedure manuals. Ability to complete required reports. Good communication skills to interact with coworkers. Ability to participate in team meetings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- HS Graduate or Equivalent i.e. GED
- At least 0 - 6 months work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to remain productive under indirect supervision and follow verbal and written instructions and techniques
- Basic mathematical aptitude required
- Basic computer skills/familiarity a plus
