Marsal Education offers a unique opportunity as we seek a candidate to serve as our Application Coordinator. Forge strong partnerships with colleagues in the Marsal School and across campus to lead the coordination of application processing and facilitate the successful and timely review of applications for programs that launch in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. Aid in the recruitment of a diverse and high quality applicant pool by providing top-notch customer service to future students. Under the supervision of the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, you will join the highly collaborative and cohesive Office of Recruitment and Admissions (ORA) team. Whether you have a background in education or are simply passionate about its transformative power, this role places you at the heart of efforts to connect students with opportunities that reach far beyond teaching alone.
Responsibilities*
- Lead and manage business processes related to undergraduate and graduate admission applications, including the verification and preparation of submitted documents and the entry and tracking of admission decisions.
- Serve as the application liaison between the ORA team and academic program colleagues involved in the review of applications. Collaborate to develop and train review committees and follow processes.
- Maintain electronic communications to notify applicants if materials are incomplete.
- Execute and assess strategies aimed at advancing and streamlining the application review process.
- Use designated systems to track students through recruitment, application, and yield such as: Salesforce CRM, MPathways, Business Objects reporting, M-reports, ImageNow, Google, and Zoom.
- Respond to student inquiries and advise them on admissions processes, timelines, and policies governed by Marsal Education, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and the Rackham Graduate School.
- Represent Marsal Education to students, families, and campus colleagues when necessary.
- Collaborate in the timely sharing of admission decisions to students.
- Coordinate the mailing of specialized packets to admitted students.
- Maintain application changes and accuracy of application requirement information on the website.
- Represent Marsal Education on various cross-campus committees which focus on admissions work.
- Special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- High School diploma or higher.
- 4+ years progressively responsible experience in Higher Education, demonstrating administrative capabilities and skills. Prior work involving admission application processing is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers and data records. This position will primarily utilize the systems listed above.
- Desire to work on a team that places a high value on quality customer service, team orientation, and planning.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-starter and motivated with ability to work toward goals and deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage, collect, analyze, and present data.
- Experience working with diverse communities and cultures or underrepresented minority populations.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and a willingness to work very occasional evenings and weekends.
Work Locations
The Marsal Family School of Education is located at 610 E. University, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. While the majority of the work days will be on campus at the Marsal School, this role will allow for a flexible schedule of up to two days per week performed remotely. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent upon the business needs of the school and/or university requirements.
